Its no surprise the Nolan can ride a bike. “My father used to be a pretty good bike racer. His talents were time trials and hills but he sucked at sprinting.” So far Nolan has followed in is fathers foot steps and also excels at time trials and hills but “sucks at sprinting.” Nolan stated racing in 2005 but crashed and broke his arm so he took the year off from racing and start again in 2006. He spent 2006 learning the ropes then in 2007 made an impression with top finishes at the tour of Fitchburg, Nationals and the Tour of l’abitibi. These finishes and numerous other podiums earned him a spot of the USA National Junior Team and in 2008 as a first year senior he will be splitting time between the THF Cycling Team and the U23 National team.
As intereting as Nolan and his father are when we look at thir roots it is apparent why. Both of Nolans grandfathers were professors, one in Art and the other in Economics. His grandfather who taught Art supposedly taught Brad Pitt and was his most influential teacher but that still remains unofficial to this day as Brad Pitt seems to have remembered everything but hi grandpa’s name in interviews. Nolans uncle, Aaro Froese raced as well. He was famous for wrecking. One of his achievements was wrecking across the finish line while winning the race in the Melon City Bike Race. He ended up burning out and stopped bike racing. “I am trying hard not to become famous for wrecking.”
Nolan is excited to be a member of the THF Realty Cycling Team for both the opportunities it will give him to grow as a bike racer and that he will be teammates with Kurt Fletcher. “Frosted Flakes is a real ladies man and I should be able to learn a thing or two from him in that department.”
Besides racing bikes Nolan loves to camp and float. A few years ago he spent 2 weeks in a canoe north of Algonquin Park in Canada. When is isn’t outdoors you can finding him playing guitar, watching B Rated movies and hanging out with his 2 dogs. When asked about any interesting personal facts all he had was ”my nipples look like milk duds.”
